La Quinta is national certificated as an eco-tourism hotel by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute through its Sustainable Tourism Certification Program (CST by its acronym in Spanish). The lodge has the highest rating of this system, 5 sheets.
La Quinta strives to mitigate in the best possible way its negative impact on the environment. Every effort is made in order to co-exist harmoniously with the surroundings. Our ten acres are composed of regenerated agriculture, an animal production unit, a reforested area with native trees, a secondary forest along the riverbank and tropical gardens. Our gardens use only native plants and the use of pesticides or chemicals is totally restricted. We do not import any animal or plant from outside of this area. All animals on the property have found a home naturally, including the three alligators in the lakes near the property boundaries.
