The SCLC focuses its efforts on four areas: Environmental Education, Community Development, Conservation and Tourism, to help train future environmental leaders, increase the organizational capacity of local communities, promote a sustainable use of land and connect tourists with the local community.
Its programs, which are administrated by international volunteers and members of the community, serve hundreds of local people and thousands of ecotourists each year. These programs include environmental education, rural tourism activities, English classes, outreach to the community, women’s groups and scholarship funds for high school students
